Shaykh Musab Penfound was born and raised in Manchester, England, and embraced Islam at eighteen after a two-year journey of discovery. He studied Arabic Language & History at the University of Manchester, then devoted himself to full-time study of the Islamic sciences through scholarship rooted in unbroken chains of transmission back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

At Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim, Yemen, he trained under distinguished scholars including Al-Habib Umar bin Muhammad bin Hafidh, studying both the formal Islamic sciences and the disciplines of inward purification. He holds ijazah (teaching licences) in Sacred Law, Spirituality, and the Prophetic methodology of calling to Islam.

Shaykh Musab has taught across the UK, the Middle East, South Africa, Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. He specialises in inward purification, the Prophet’s biography (Sīrah), and the lives of the early Muslims and later scholars.

He still lives in Tarim, where he continues his advanced studies and serves the global Muslim community.
